The Pedagogy course is designed to introduce the principles of the Montessori approach in a practical fashion to those who have no prior experience, and to act as a refresher for those who have had previous training. The focus is on making connections between the theory and real life ‘classroom’ practice. We acknowledge that the classroom may be formal, run by a childminder or home based - the approach may apply to any setting. In this course you will learn in various ways, such as by watching videos, participating in discussions and learning activities, reading articles and reflecting on your learning. You will also have a final quiz based assessment.

Jeremy Clarke

Jeremy joined the MCI academic team in 2013. He previously taught in Nursery and Reception age classes for 13 years and was at Gorton Mount Primary when it became the first state school in the UK to adopt the Montessori approach. At MCI he is the Leader of E-Learning team. He is also an assessor for the Montessori Evaluation and Accreditation Board (MEAB). He received his BA (QTS) in Environmental Science and Outdoor Studies in Ambleside. He completed his Montessori Diploma at MCI.

Our academic staff will be online each week but we may not be able to respond individually to every question or comment.
