Our first free parenting course for 2018! Are you choosing a nursery for your child? It can be a tricky time for parents, with so many choices available. This free course has been created to help parents identify what makes a Montessori nursery different, how it can help your child and family in making this big step, and how you can be confident in your choice.

Choosing a nursery for your child can be a tricky time for parents, with so many choices available it can also be an overwhelming time. This course is designed to help you identify what makes a Montessori nursery different, how it can help your child and family in making this big step, and how you can be confident in your choice. It will include some mythbusting – much has been written about Montessori education, we will help you get to the facts.

After completing the course you will be able to visit a Montessori nursery equipped with the knowledge to make a decision on whether it is right for your child, and have a deeper understanding of how and why they are run as they are.

Please note this course is staffed and running from October 8th 2018 for three weeks. However you can access the course any time after this and complete in your own time. The course takes about 2 hours to complete and you will have a minimum of one month access to the course after you start.

Jeremy Clarke

Jeremy joined the MCI academic team in 2013. He previously taught in Nursery and Reception age classes for 13 years and was at Gorton Mount Primary when it became the first state school in the UK to adopt the Montessori approach. At MCI he is the Leader of E-Learning and a tutor to distance learning students. He is also an assessor for MEAB. He received his BA (QTS) in Environmental Science and Outdoor Studies in Ambleside. He completed his Montessori Diploma at MCI. Jeremy will be online every week to respond to the discussion.

Barbara Isaacs

Barbara joined the newly established MCI in 1998 after training Montessori teachers both at Montessori St Nicholas and London Montessori Centre. She was also a proprietor of Seedlings Montessori Nursery in Oxfordshire for fifteen years. She is the Chief Education Officer for Montessori Centre International and the Senior Accreditation Officer for the Montessori Accreditation and Evaluation Board. She is also now the Global Ambassador for Montessori St Nicholas.
